Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians/Families/Community:

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Heard-Mixon Elementary School. I speak for each member of Heard-Mixon when I say we are excited that you are a part of our Heard-Mixon family.

This website is a great communication tool for you. Please check it often to be updated on events. Another way we communicate with our parents is through the school agenda. Take time to review your child’s agenda each day. It will contain their homework assignments and other comments from your child’s teacher. Please sign the agenda each day to show that you are aware of your child’s assignments. If you have questions regarding the policies of the school, please consult the handbooks that are in the front of the agenda.

We understand the importance of an effective family, community, school partnership and invite you to volunteer as often as possible. Getting involved in school activities is an awesome way for parents to stay informed. Don’t forget the school PTO always needs your support as well.

Please be aware of the following items concerning attendance:

  • School starts promptly at 7:40 a.m.
  • Morning car riders should be dropped off at the car rider loop.
  • Walk your child in the front office if they are tardy (7:40 a.m.
or later). Please sign them in on the computer to obtain a tardy
pass to take to their teacher.
  • Early checkouts should be done by 1:30 p.m.
  • Please send in a note if your child is absent.

We enjoy the opportunity to serve our Heard-Mixon school family. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please give us a call.

    Sincerely,
    Marquita Wilkins
    Principal
