Grant funds will be used to purchase a Toniebox2 Audio Player, three additional story characters, comfortable seating for our new listening center, and approximately 20 books in English and Spanish, to go with the Toniebox characters. Listening to stories read aloud helps young children to develop a love of reading and become lifelong readers. By using our new listening center, our students will learn how to handle books properly, turn the pages, and track words from left to right, top to bottom. We are excited to offer our Pre-K students this amazing opportunity!

Join the Birthday Club now through September 5!
Honor your child and/or his teacher/class by dedicating a brand-new library book in their honor! Students bring back the birthday club form with $10 cash for the 1st book and $5 for each additional book they wish to dedicate. Students visit the library to choose a new book and join the birthday club. The student will have a birthday balloon displayed on the school's birthday board, have a dedication sticker inside the book, and also be the 1st person to check out the new book to bring home for 2 weeks. The book will then be added to the HMES library for all students to enjoy. Please contact your child's teacher if you need a birthday club form.
