        AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM (HMES)

About the Program:
21st Century Community Learning Centers Program is to provide federal funds for communities to establish or expand activities in community learning centers that operate during out-of-school hours and serve three specific purposes:
• To provide opportunities for academic enrichment and tutorial services to help students meet state and local academic standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math
• To offer students a broad array of additional services, programs, and activities that are designed to reinforce and complement the regular academic program; and
• To offer families of 21st CCLC students' opportunities for active and meaningful engagement in their children's education.

Parents:
The afterschool program provides opportunities for academic enrichment. The program offers a broad array of activities to reinforce and complement the regular school day. The 21st Century Community Learning Centers are FREE (no tuition). ASAP is offered to students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade. The program is designed for students who can participate independently in age-appropriate activities.
-Parents are required to participate in 3 volunteer activities (i.e. Parent Zoom meetings, Title 1 activities and other activities offered throughout the school year)

Attendance:
Attendance is required for the entire day (2:15p- 5:50p). Time missed due to excessive absences and EARLY and or LATE pick-ups could affect your child’s enrollment.
