Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Guardians, Families and Community:

It is with a great honor that I serve you as the principal of Heard-Mixon Elementary School. I began as an Assistant Principal in 2011 and instantly fell in love with our superstar students, parents, and staff. We are a family that works together to provide educational excellence for all students.

Please become familiar with this website which includes important information regarding news, calendars, Title 1, and much more. The agenda is also an easy tool to communicate directly to teachers day to day information such as transportation changes, assignments, and upcoming activities. Please make an effort to sign and return the agenda daily. Also, your child will come home every Wednesday with a folder that will have work samples, flyers, forms, and other important information. You may also call and/or email the school or teacher if you have any questions or concerns.

We have a Superstar PTO that has provided support to our school in countless ways. If you would like to become a part of this caring group, please contact the school. The PTO is always looking for members, volunteers, and support.

Attendance is an important factor in your child’s overall progress. We understand that absences or tardies may occur due to factors outside of your control so if your child is absent, please send in a note or doctor’s excuse. The school bell rings at 7:40 each day and the expectation is that students are in the classroom and ready to learn at that time. Morning car riders should drop off before this time to give students the ability to walk into class without stress. If your child is tardy, walk them to the front office.

I am so grateful to be able to work at this exceptional school where all are welcome. If at any time you would like to contact me with suggestions or concerns, you may email me at [email protected] or call the school at 770-784-2980.

Sincerely,
Angelia A. Cameron, EdD.
