How long have you worked at Heard-Mixon?
This is my 6th year at HMES.

What do you like best about working at Heard Mixon?
I absolutely LOVE my colleagues. Heard Mixon is not just a work place, it is a FAMILY! Students and teachers look out for one another and love on one another.

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy spending time with my family, hunting, and fishing.

Anything else that you would like us to know about you?
My favorite sport of all time is softball. I have played softball since I was four years old. I played for Eastside High School and Georgia Perimeter College. I currently play for my church, Church 213.

What do the students have to say about Mrs. Smith?

What do you like best about working at Heard Mixon?
The family atmosphere between staff students, and administration

What are your hobbies?
Shopping and decorating

How many years have you been married?
34 years to Ron Aiken.

How many children do you have?
We have a son, Chad Aiken (32) and a daughter, Ashlyn Aiken Morton (27).  They are both married and no grandchildren yet!

Do you have any pets?
We have a precious toy poodle(8 years old) and her name is Lacee.  She is our baby!  We also have three grand-dogs and a rescue cat named Mr. Cat!

Do you have any favorite memories at Heard-Mixon?
I have many wonderful memories but my favorite memories are when my children were at Heard-Mixon.  Also my father-in-law, Bill Aiken, was a 5th grade science/social studies teacher at Heard-Mixon for 18 years before he retired and later passed away.  He was Newton County Teacher of the Year!  We miss him very much.

What do you like best about working at Heard Mixon?
I love the staff! I truly feel like they are my family. I also love how caring the students are to me!

What are your hobbies?
I love water-sports, the beach, cruising, and shopping!

Anything else you would like us to know about you?
I have the best family a girl could ask for!
