Pre-K- We are learning about Zoo animals and ocean animals

K- ELA - retelling stories with key details and writing fiction
Math - numbers within 20
Science - living and nonliving things
Social Studies - being a good leader

1st- ELA-Literary vs. Informational, retelling, point of view; Narrative Writing
MATH-Problem solving to answer real life questions
SCIENCE/HEALTH-Basic needs of plants and animals/Dental Health
SOCIAL STUDIES-Community helpers

2nd- ELA: reading and writing informational text
Math: continue three-digit addition/subtraction strategies, geometry
Science: Force and Motion

3rd- Reading: Theme Sports/Reading Strategies
Math: Addition/Subtraction/Fractions
Social Studies: Colonial America
Practice Milestones Reading and Math

4th- Math: geometry, angles and measuring angles
Reading: Point of View
ELA: Narrative Writing

5th- Reading: Literary - Compare and contrast two or more characters, settings, or events in a story or drama, drawing on specific details in the text (e.g., how characters interact).
Informational - Explain the relationships or interactions between two or more individuals, events, ideas, or concepts in a historical, scientific, or technical text based on specific information in the text.
Narrative Writing - Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, descriptive details, and clear event sequences:
Math- Division with Fractions, Place Value with Decimals



Scoops of Fun AR Reward
March 18-19
Students who meet their goals in Accelerated Reader will be invited to enjoy the Scoops of Fun reward in the library AND earn an EXTRA RECESS! The last day to meet 3rd quarter AR goals is Friday, March 15th. Check AR Home Connect or with your child's teacher to monitor progress towards meeting quarterly reading goals.
